B.A. Ancient and Medieval with Year Abroad Full-time

2026/27 Session

Year Abroad: Students have the option of taking a 120 credit Year Abroad module based on module assessments taken at an Overseas University. If the module is passed it will contibute 6.25% to the overall degree (the rest of stage II contributing 18.75%) and the student's degree title will become 'Ancient and Medieval History with Year Abroad'. If the student fails the Year Abroad they revert to the standard BA Ancient and Medieval History programme. Students wishing to undertake a year abroad will normally be expected to have achieved a 2.1 standard in their first two years of study. And, where relevant: at least 2 years of successful MOMD knowledge in the target language (equivalent to B1 level). Where teaching will be conducted in English in a non-English speaking country, students will be expected to have passed at least a 20 credit introductory module (or equivalent) in the native language.
